If you have a semi-automatic and hate the mess and the cleanup then this ESE pod will be a gift heaven sent. Lavazza does make great coffee by the fine balance of roast and aroma. I own an Illy x6 and it came with a sampler of illy ese pods. When those ran out I researched online and ordered these pods. First of all the pod is not tightly packed and has a looseness which makes the fit in the holder improper. As a result sometimes the illy machine keeps on going and overflows the normal quantity which an espresso cup would hold.

Secondly the flavor body and aroma are diffuse and not good for espresso. If you are making a cappuccino you will likely not taste much difference. I do not recommend Lavazza for espresso on an illy machine.

The quality is excellent. It worked well in my machine. My problem is with the taste. It is very light and sweet. My lattes tasted like sweetened milk. If you don't like much coffee taste, these are the way to go. I returned mine.

Love these Lavazza pods. Good crema , mellow chocolate taste. Brand new Gaggia classic being used for espresso. I have found that tamping the pod and slightly wetting makes a great pull with wonderful results. Repeated attempts with grinding my own beans have not come close to ease, simplicity and taste of these ESE pods.

I expected better from Lavazza having been introduced to it in Rome last year. In perspective, I usually grind my espresso beans (Brazil Sweet Blue is my favorite) immediately before brewing and I always buy beans that have been roasted no more than 1 week ago. This obviously skew my taste toward fresh product and these pods are definitely not that. Convenient, though.

First of all it is loosely packed. When I first used the product, water came out first before I could see any coffee and that is entirely on the packing. To me the chocolate like taste is not for me. It tempers with the way I like my coffee to taste. Bottom-line it is not nearly as good as Starbucks. Had I rated this product the first week I tried it, I would have given it one star. But now since it has been a while I am a little more forgiving. It is cheaper than most pods to begin with. Pressing on the pod helps the loose packing problem. Since I drink at least 3 cups a day, I have chosen to make one Starbucks and then do the rest with this to save some. But if you ask me to entirely switch to this product, I wouldn't even think about it. However I would suggest the before you get 150 pack, first try the lesser package. At first I felt trapped with 150 pods that I hated until I compromised and coped. If you're not looking to save, look away. But if you want to save, after a while it is not too bad.

I tried this coffee on a recommendation from a friend and I am very pleasantly suprised.

It is smooth and aromatic, great flavor and nicely roasted. The grind is very fine so you don't need to use as much as other coffees. It comes in space saving bricks for easy storage and is vacuum sealed. I had mine around for a few weeks before opening and was fresh.

If you like good coffee, gotta give this a try.

With the pods & the Lavazza machine you get a shot of espresso with the push of the button. The pods make it super easy (though they're probably not eco friendly). I have a double espresso every morning and have found the crema to consistently produce the most flavorful and creamy espresso shots. While the crema is strong espresso, it does not produce the jolt that some coffee house espressos do. On the other hand, it is smoother, less harsh and very "drinkable". The coffee houses have not been getting my money in the morning for quite a while now.

The item is as described by the opinions of the other reviewers. A more major issue is that Amazon ships it via the US Postal Service which can take (an already shelved product) 3 -7 days to arrive. Hey, this is coffee, and it only has a limited life to live. Taking into account that it's a large bag for home use we still must keep it allive for a few more weeks till were done with it. It's been 5 days since they shipped it, but I still don't have it and now I wonder how old it will become when it finally arrives. Amazon needs to use an alternate shipping methode

It is a really good coffee for the money, but it is lightly roasted for espresso. The aroma is really nice, but has little flavour and body. That is why I am giving only three stars for a coffee that is actually good, because it is not the best for espresso by far, do not try cappuccino or even macchiato. Also the Super Crema name might be misleading, the amount of crema is just about the same than other brands. This is not a problem since you do not really need an ultra thick layer of crema, it makes a fair amount of crema just like any other fine beans.

I really like Lavazza coffees in general. Recently I tried the Super Crema since the reviews were really strong.

The taste of this espresso is very much as described. It is robust in flavor with a bit of a sweet taste and is very smooth, not bitter at all. It works especially well with Lattes. Can't say that I notice an extraordinary crema, but does make a notable amount of crema.

Overall, again, Lavazza Super Crema demonstrated to me that it is worthy of my previous assessment of the Lavazza brand in general that it represents the best in class of espressos. Super Crema is distinctly different from Oro and Blue, and like the others is smooth.

I initially bought this coffee to use for cappuccino/espresso, however, it is just great as a regular cup of coffee! Very smooth taste, low acidity, overall nice medium balance, not too heavy and not too light. I really like the 2.2 LB bag size, as my husband and I go through coffee like it's water. Will most likely be purchasing more of this one from Amazon.com. I'm looking forward to making my first cup of cappuccino and espresso with this brand. For the longest time I've been looking for something that compares to Illy espresso (medium roast) at a lower price. Thought this was a deal as I've been paying $14+ per can of Illy. Yes i did say drip. I have now tried 2 different lavazza brands. This is the better of the two but do not discount the other as i love it equally. I will continue to buy both as i love the occasional change up. If you use this in a drip coffee pot i would suggest staring out with using just over half of the normal amount you usually use then move on from there. With other brands including starbucks i would use 1 - 1.5 scoops per cup. So in my 5 cup maker depending on what taste i was going after i would use up to 8 scoops. With both lavazza coffees i have found 3-3.5 scoops is ideal in my 5 cup maker. It takes a few times to get it in your head that so much less coffee works but it does.
